Gibson JD Crowe Blackjack This is an RB3 with copper flashing on the hardware which looks really cool and also makes the banjo sound HOT. This has the classic bluegrass sound but this is definitely more alive than the average RB3 is. The shell is mahogany and the neck is also mahogany with rosewood and a gorgeous and unusual inlay pattern.

This is a very rare and very desirable 2004 Gibson JD Crowe Blackjack 5 string Banjo. This has been fully inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description
The JD Crowe Blackjack is an RB75 that has copper flashing on the hardware along with Granada style engraving. The copper flashing creates a type of bang that only this banjo produces and it is very desirable for that reason.
The shell is a 3 ply hard rock maple shell. The hardware is nickel with copper flashing. The neck and resonator are mahogany and this has a rosewood fretboard. The fretboard has special inlay that is only found on this banjo.
Gibson Jd Crowe Blackjack Banjo
The original neck for this broke and someone found another original Gibson JD Crowe Blackjack neck. The neck that is on this banjo did not leave the factory on this banjo but I want to emphasize it is an original Gibson Blackjack neck. This also has a couple new thumbscrews, one gold and one nickel. This has the original engraved Crowe Tone Ring and this also has the original Gibson Case. The case has the original paperwork which is a nice plus.
These do not come up for sale often because people usually don't want to sell them. This is a fantastic banjo that is going to make someone extremely happy!!
Condition
This banjo is in really good shape which is a big deal. The copper is notorious for wearing off and this has a really nice and thick coat of copper. The wood also looks great and is really clean. This has a clean neck and fretboard and even the frets look great. This has no spikes or 5th string capo which probably explains why the frets are so clean. This is a gorgeous instrument with a clean original case.
Set Up
We professionally set up every Banjo that comes through our shop. This has a new Remo frosted head which is set to 90 on a drum dial. The bridge is a Sullivan bridge which is a high quality bridge. The banjo is set with correct intonation. The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the action is set well. This has loads of volume and pop and also is a great player.
This is a special and rare banjo that has been cleaned and set up to look, play and sound its best.
